Yardley, PA – March 15, 2017 – Mike Doyle, Manager of the Weidel Real Estate Yardley Office, and his wife Stephanie Doyle, are leading Team #EndChildhoodHomelessness at the Covenant House’s Sleep Out on March 24th in Philadelphia.
The Covenant House was founded in 1972 with the mission to help homeless kids escape the streets. Today they are the largest, privately funded charity in the Americas providing loving care and vital services to homeless, abandoned, abused, trafficked, and exploited youth. The Sleep Out involves taking a piece of cardboard and a sleeping bag into a parking lot or along a strip of sidewalk and sleeping outside for one night in order to raise awareness of childhood homelessness and funds for the Covenant House.
Mike has been a volunteer with Advocates for Homelessness and Those in Need in Lower Bucks County for several years. He was first introduced to The Covenant House and Sleep Out by one of his good friends, Joe Carey. This is his second year participating in the event and his team has set a goal to raise $5,000 in support of the Covenant House. “When people are in need they want to feel loved and feel human,” says Doyle. “Just donating money to a cause isn’t enough for me. I really want to show these children that we love them unconditionally. I hope I am able to encourage one person to participate in the Sleep Out this year, and then that person gets one more, and so on and so forth.”
“We are incredibly proud of the work Mike is doing, “ says Rich Weidel III, Executive Vice President for Weidel Real Estate. “Caring for our community has been an integral part of Weidel’s vision as a company for the past 100 years. His passion and dedication to helping raise awareness and end childhood homelessness is one of the many reasons we are proud he is a part of the Weidel team.”
The funds raised by Sleep Out participants are put to work immediately, keeping the lights on and doors open for the thousands of kids who will seek help this year.
